Strategy Actions of The Health Science Institute
The goal of the strategy actions of the Icelandic Health Science Institute is to strengthen it in international comparison and to create new knowledge in the field for the benefit of science and society as a whole. The development of a research environment and increased support for researcher enables these goals.

Increased number of research grants to SHS
Actions
- Increased support with grant opportunity searches and applications for research funds.
- Explore the lowering of teaching- and administrative/service duties to increase the time that can be allocated to applications to international research funds.

Increased service for research projects
Actions
- Centralized purchase of research in partnership with other institutions.
- Simplify research account audits.
- Increased support for running and closing of research projects.
- More visible collaboration with Auðna – The National Technology and Knowledge Transfer Centre.
- Ensure centralized service for maintenance and updating of equipment .
- Increase support services for questionnaire design.
- Assist with registration and management of research approvals for scientific research.

- Increase international relations to increase quality research e.g., by increasing sample sizes in clinical research and to ensure best practices .
